August 21, 2017 will see the first total solar eclipse over the continental United States since 1979, and Columbia, Missouri will be right in the middle of the action!
Directly in the path of totality, Columbia invites you to witness this incredibly special astronomical happening with a weekend of fun eclipse-tastic events that lead up to an incredible 2 minutes and 36 seconds of totality on Monday afternoon in a festive atmosphere.
Columbia is well known for its festivals, its engaged and welcoming community and for being ‘What You Unexpect.’ Come see how our city celebrates an event that is truly once-in-a-lifetime.
Interested in volunteering at the event? Columbia's Eclipse events will need the help of many volunteers on Saturday, August 20 and Monday, August 21. To learn more or share your time, contact the City's Volunteer Programs at 874-7499 or volunteer@CoMo.gov.
